Naoshi Yamauchi

Vice President, Optimization & Analytics

Coming from a long line of dentists in his family, Naoshi had planned on continuing the tradition. But his intense dislike for the sound of metal on teeth steered him in a different direction. After working as a project manager for a pharmaceutical direct marketing agency, Naoshi went back to school to get his MBA from North Carolina State University.

Most recently, he was the business intelligence manager for Lulu.com, where he managed and led projects to drive analytics-based decision-making in the company. As Vice President of Optimization & Analytics for Brooks Bell, Naoshi uses data to strategize testing programs, then analyzes and translates the results to the client. He enjoys using a good balance of intuition and data.

When he’s not being an analytics ninja, Naoshi enjoys playing soccer, tennis and golf, chasing after his two sets of twins, hanging out with friends and family and holding the status of Brooks Bell Ping Pong Master.

Our Core Values at Work

What’s your favorite way to pursue knowledge?
Though often not pleasant, the best way for me to learn is through trial and failure and seeking the “why.”
What’s one true thing about you that not many people know?
I’m not as smart as people think I am.
What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
Making a career change and heading to MBA school with twins on the way.
What makes you a great team member?
Not sure. I’m only as great as my team allows me to be.
What are five things that make you happy?
Being with friends and family; adding positive value to my work; traveling and experiencing new cultures; figuring out problems and creating solutions; competitive sports and winning.
